As a service to our readers, we provide advertising space to Adventist Church and church-related organizations and businesses that provide products or services in harmony with the mission and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Ads must be in good taste and represent businesses and organizations with excellent reputations. The Southwestern Union Record reserves the right to refuse or discontinue any advertisement at any time, and reserves the right to edit ads to comply with editorial policies.

The Record does not provide billing or collection services. All ads must be paid in advance. Ads will not be published until payment is received.

Refer to the table below for display ad rates and sizes. Note that the trimmed size is the actual size of a page. The bleed size has 1/8 inch of bleed added to each side. “No bleed” size represents an ad that fits inside the margins of the page. Critical content and text should be kept at least 1/4 inch inside of the trim area so that it will not risk getting trimmed off.

<Transfer method>

Electronic transfer through email provides the quickest and easiest way to submit your ad to the Record office. File size is not an issue. Simply email your ad to becord@swuc.org, or send a link at which your ad can be downloaded.

<Format>

We accept ads in a variety of formats, but to ensure the best results, we recommend press-ready (high resolution with fonts embedded) PDF files in CMYK color mode or print/press resolution (minimum 300 DPI) TIFF, JPEG, or EPS files. When submitting a PDF, please make sure that all fonts are embedded when including unrasterized text.

<Discounts>

There are two types of discounts available to display advertisers. You may only apply one discount per ad.

  • Frequency Contract—A 15% discount is available to advertisers who agree to advertise 5 times in one year, and a 10% discount for 2 or more times in one year. Advertising must be inserted within one calendar year to earn the frequency discount rates.
  • Southwestern Union—A 10% discount is available to members and institutions located within the Southwestern Union territory.

The deadline for submitting your insertion order, payment, and advertisement is the 23rd of the month, five (5) weeks before the issue date. Please include your payment with your insertion order, and be sure your ad arrives here by the deadline. Refer to the table below for easy reference.

Classified Ads

Adventist church members, member organizations, and Adventist-owned businesses may submit classified ads to Southwestern Union Record.

Note: Classified Ads will be published on the Web site each month. If you DON’T want your ad included online, please indicate this in your correspondence. The Record does not provide billing or collection services. All ads must be paid in advance. Ads will not be published until payment is received.

If you have never placed a classified ad in the Southwestern Union Record before:

First-time advertisers located within the Southwestern Union (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas) will need a letter from their local church pastor vouching for their church membership. First-time advertisers located outside the Southwestern Union will need a letter from their local conference office verifying church membership. This letter should be scanned and e-mailed along with the classified ad or mailed with payment to the address listed above.

<Ad rates>

  • $40 for 50 words or less
  • Maximum of 100 words accepted, with an additional charge of $0.50 per word over 50 words
  • $15 additional for ads placed in a box
