The Southwestern Union Conference secretary functions as vice-president of administration and custodian of records and policy. He prepares the agenda for the union executive committee and serves as a consultant to the local conferences. He also serves as the Public Affairs and Religious Liberty director for the union, providing assistance and support for members who are struggling with work place related religious liberty issues.
